Mainline presents ‘Standard Selects: The Movie’ at the Plaza on March 2

Mainline’s first feature film production with Standard Electric Records Co. will debut at the Plaza Theater in Atlanta for one night only on March 2

On Mon., March 2, Mainline will present its first-ever film production Standard Selects: The Movie at the Plaza Theater. Tickets are available for purchase here.

This film was made in partnership between Mainline and local recording studio Standard Electric Recorders Co., founded by Atlanta-based musician and engineer Damon Moon. The full-length feature was fully recorded at Standard Electric’s studio in Scottdale, Ga., and features 11 live performances and clips from exclusive interviews with an array of up-and-coming artists in Atlanta, including BAUMSCDSMJanie DangerMaggie FMmajorMakenna LyricMuelasSafety SwitchSlopingSMALL, and Upchuck.

This special one-time screening is just the beginning of our launch of the Standard Selects digital series, which will be ongoing programming by Mainline and Standard Electric. Our first episode will debut on March 10 and will be released weekly along with exclusive interviews, featuring one artist per episode.

“Standard Selects” began as a series in 2018 that went into hiatus in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, it’s back, with the support of Mainline to speak with artists for a glimpse into their creative processes and to peel the curtain back on their lives as working musicians.

“We think this programming is going to fill a void in both the music scenes across the South and the local indie media landscape,” says Mainline founder and publisher Aja Arnold. “With corporatized outlets and music festivals continuously divesting from local indie artists, we are extremely excited to partner with Standard Electric and its founder, Damon Moon, to reboot this important series and bring our audience a new line of coverage and cultural resource.”
